Product Owner
As a Product Owner, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, architects, and stakeholders, and contribute to our purpose of Bringing People Closer by being an important contributor to ensuring the success of our software releases on our Video Systems products already in the market and new products that will be soon launched by defining product vision, prioritize features, and ensure timely and quality delivery of our video system solutions.
You will be the voice of the team, translating complex requirements into actionable user stories as part of our Video Systems Development Centre based in Ballerup, Denmark.
The team you will be part of:
You will be reporting to the Embedded SW Manager in EU, joining together with a team of 35+ Software developers spread within 2 scrum teams based in Denmark, Sweden and Poland.
Your team works closely with the Video Business Unit to provide the “innovation muscle” and maximize growth. Your team owns e2e accountability for delivery of innovation to BU, delivering products on time, cost, scope and quality, in full alignment with the Video Systems Division and roadmaps.
Your contribution is appreciated, and your key areas of responsibilities will be:
- Product Vision & Strategy: Define and communicate the product vision for video systems running on Android, ensuring alignment with customer needs and company goals.
- Backlog Management: Own and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring it aligns with the overall strategy and roadmap. Break down epics into manageable user stories and features.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison between stakeholders (e.g., engineering, marketing, and clients) to gather requirements and feedback, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products.
- SAFe Leadership: Lead product development in a SAFe environment, participating in Program Increment (PI) planning, sprint planning, and other Agile ceremonies. Ensure that the team operates efficiently within the SAFe framework.
- Feature Definition & Roadmap: Define features and capabilities for Android-based video systems, focusing on performance, reliability, and scalability. Develop and maintain a detailed roadmap, ensuring alignment with the overall program.
- User Story Development: Write clear and concise user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical requirements. Collaborate with the development team to clarify and refine stories throughout the development cycle.
- Prioritization: Balance competing priorities, including technical debt, new features, and market demands. Make informed decisions based on stakeholder feedback, data, and technical feasibility.
- Quality Assurance & Testing: Work with QA teams to ensure features are tested thoroughly, and acceptance criteria are met. Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) and provide final sign-off on product releases.
- Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement by analyzing feedback, product performance, and team efficiency. Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance product quality.
To succeed in the role, we imagine that you have:
- 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role in a software development environment.
- Proven experience in consumer product development, especially video or multimedia systems would be of high benefit.
- Extensive experience working within a SAFe framework, including PI planning and execution.
- A good understanding of Embedded Hardware, Embedded operating systems such as Android, linux and Free RTOS and multimedia system architecture.
- Deep knowledge of Agile methodologies, especially SAFe, with a proven history of managing complex, multi-team initiatives.
- Effective leadership competencies, adept at navigating and harmonizing the interests of multiple parties. Skilled in articulating ideas and concepts through speech and writing.
- Skilled in dissecting intricate issues, leveraging data to inform choices, and guiding groups in the creation of innovative and expandable strategies.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Additional Preferred Skills:
- Experience in building consumer-grade video systems for Android platforms.
- SAFe certification (PO/PM or equivalent).
- Familiarity with cloud-based video systems.
- Comprehensive understanding of mobile app development and UI/UX considerations for video systems.
