Join us as a Lead Frontend Software Engineer and shape the future of frontend development in a dynamic and international environment. We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced frontend engineer who can set the technical direction, drive innovation, and lead by example.
The role
As the Lead Frontend Software Engineer, you will be responsible for defining and executing the frontend development strategy for our applications. You will work closely with a cross-functional team of engineers, UX designers, and product owners to create scalable, high-performance, and visually stunning user interfaces.Your expertise in modern frontend technologies and design systems will be crucial in driving the evolution of our frontend architecture.
We are building a new microservice-based, cloud-native platform that will lay the foundation for all future products. As part of this initiative, we are also introducing a new frontend client that seamlessly integrates with our evolving platform.We are transitioning from a 10-year-old Angular application to a modern frontend based on new technology while ensuring smooth integration with our existing system. The new frontend will be built on a microfrontend architecture, enabling clear domain separation and modular development.
Additionally, we are evolving our design system, and you will play a key role in incorporating it into the new frontend.
You will also play a key role in mentoring and guiding other frontend engineers, ensuring best practices are followed, and fostering a culture of excellence in frontend development.
Key responsibilities- Define and implement the frontend development strategy, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance.
- Lead the design and development of a modern frontend application that integrates with the existing Angular-based frontend.
- Architect and implement microfrontend solutions, ensuring seamless integration across different modules and teams with clear domain separation.
- Contribute to the development of a new frontend client as part of our cloud-native, microservice-based platform.
- Evolve and incorporate our design system into the new frontend to maintain UI consistency.
- Collaborate with UX designers to create intuitive and visually appealing user experiences.
- Work closely with backend engineers to optimize API integration and frontend-backend communication.
- Provide mentorship and technical leadership to the frontend development team.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and continuously evaluate new technologies to improve our frontend stack.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in frontend development.
- Proficiency in multiple modern frontend frameworks (Angular, Vue, React).
- Strong experience with microfrontends and designing applications using this architecture.
- Experience working with and building design systems to maintain UI consistency.
- Broad exposure to different technologies, ideally through consultancy work or diverse industry experience.
- Proven ability to set technical direction and drive best practices for frontend development.
- Experience developing frontends for cloud-native, microservice-based platforms.
- Comfortable working in an international team with remote collaboration.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
- Work on cutting-edge frontend technologies and influence the entire frontend strategy.
- Lead the transition from a legacy Angular-based system to a modern microfrontend architecture.
