On behalf of one of our clients in the pharmaceutical industry, we are currently looking for a Software Engineer. Please note the project is estimated to 20 hours per week.
Job Description
Our client is now looking for their new Software Engineer as part of their Computational Science Platforms team. In the department, they are responsible for developing, implementing, operating, maintaining, and supporting the data, middleware and IT infrastructure that is used across our client´s R&ED on-premises and/or in the cloud.You will work within a scrum team dealing with data scientists and IT vendors, which will require a good level of collaborative skills and cooperation. As a Software Engineer, you will get to work closely with scientists and architects to understand the business needs and mainly own a product which is a phyton library and basically exist for integrations with some other platforms.
You will among other things be responsible for:
- Maintaining the software packages
- Refactoring the python library
- Merge request, code review
- Releasing and maintaining pipelines and automating repeated tasks.
- Testing
- Upgrading the dependent libraries
- Governance and security.
- Bug fixing
- Guidance for the users, including writing documentation for users and guide them.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions and resolve issues.

Required Skills:
- A bachelor’s degree with a large focus on IT systems engineering and/or Scientific Computing or similar.
- +5 years of experience and proficiency within IT infrastructure and/or system engineering.
- Python including knowledge of how libraries are structured and built
- Python testing and working with CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of Docker containers - Data manipulation in Pandas
- Working with endpoints in Python
- Knowledge of authentication (Kerberos and Oauth)
- Documentation with Sphinx
