Database Specialist 12 Months Contract

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct a comprehensive review of all SQL code and database architecture to identify and address performance issues.
• Lead SQL query optimization efforts, improving system performance and reducing query execution times.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database performance bottlenecks using advanced techniques like indexing, partitioning, and query optimization.
• Collaborate with development teams to implement database improvements and provide recommendations on SQL best practices. - Perform database performance tuning, monitoring, and capacity planning to ensure peak system performance.
• Implement and maintain high availability.
• Mentor development teams and provide thought leadership in database optimization strategies.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA, with a strong focus on performance tuning and SQL query optimization.
• Extensive experience with Oracle database architecture, performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization.
• Expertise in performance monitoring and tuning tools such as AWR, ASH, ADDM, and Oracle Enterprise Manager.
• Deep understanding of Oracle internals, database design, and optimization best practices.
• Experience working with large-scale, complex databases in high-traffic environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a track record of addressing performance-related issues in business critical applications.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Certifications such as Oracle Certified Master (OCM) or Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) are preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with PL/SQL development and optimization.
• Knowledge of Oracle database solutions and tuning.
• Experience in mentoring and leading development teams.
• Experience with IBM Datastage.
