Danske Bank is looking for an experienced and motivated Head of Credit & Advisory for Business Customers to lead our Small & Mid-Corporate 1st line Credit as well as our Corporate & Sustainability Advisory units in the four Nordic markets.

Bringing extensive credit risk experience, deep understanding of financial advisory and a firm commitment to sustainable transition, you will play a crucial role in executing on our ambitious growth strategy. You will do this by reinforcing and strengthening our focus on commercial mindset, risk management and excellent customer service.

You will join the Management Board of Nordic Advisory Banking in our Business Customer unit, and you will have great opportunity to make your mark on our newly established unit, Credit & Advisory, consisting of more than 70 skilled employees representing three distinct areas:

1. 1st Line Credit in Business Customers

• Credit Advisory and sparring for Relationship Managers and Management
• Oversight and governance of credit portfolio quality across the Nordics
• Harmonised delegation of lending authority
• Collaboration with key stakeholders (e.g., Group Risk Management, including 2nd Line Credit, Ratings, etc.)
• Annual review of business procedures and instructions
• Implementation of credit-related changes towards frontline
• Providing credit insights/analysis to guide customer acquisition
• Promoting strong credit culture in Nordic Advisory Banking

1. Corporate Advisory

• Providing financial analyses and advice on mergers and acquisitions (M&A)
• Assessing opportunities and risks related to M&A deals and supporting customers with strategic advice
• Developing global, Nordic, and local insights on trends affecting the business environment
• Presenting insights to customers and advising them on strategic direction
• Financial analysis including modelling cash flow scenarios, strategy and future plans & capital structure analysis

1. Sustainability

• Driving the bank's sustainability agenda towards small and mid-size corporate customers as well as Commercial Real Estate customers
• Developing and executing initiatives within green financing and sustainability partnerships
• Providing expert advisory on ESG and sustainable transformation
• Supporting customers in their sustainability transitions with green loans and other financial products
• Mitigating risks related to sustainability and helping customers make informed strategic decisions

As Credit & Advisory is a newly established unit a key task is also to make sure we build scale and reap synergies across Credit Advisory, Corporate Advisory & ESG Advisory.

Qualifications and Experience:

To succeed in the role, you must have extensive experience in credit risk management, a strong knowledge of credit risk principles and be a modern and well-liked leader that can balance IQ and EQ.

You should be able to create followership in and outside your own organisation and manage a diverse stakeholder landscape.

We imagine that you have an educational background within finance, economics, business administration, or a related field. You should have at least 10 years of banking experience, including at least 5 years in a management role. Professional certifications like CFA (Certified Financial Advisor) or FRM (Financial Risk Management) are a big plus.
