Data Specialist at DTU Arena for Life Science Automation (DALSA)
), focusing on enhancing our data and IoT capabilities within our automation life science laboratories. As a key member of the interdisciplinary DALSA team, you will collaborate with various experts from Bioengineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Computer Science to drive data innovation and support our ambitions to become the leading life science automation development and user facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine data infrastructure and architecture to support automation workflows
- Collaborate with professionals in bioengineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and computer science to implement data-driven projects
- Contribute to the development of DALSA into a centre of excellence
- Lead data strategy initiatives to ensure the continuous growth and expansion of DALSA’s activities
- Design and manage data warehouses for efficient and secure data storage for public and private collaborative projects
- Implement robust data storage solutions, ensuring compliance with security standards
- Perform data analysis to generate insights and support strategic decision-making
- Ensure the integration and interoperability of data systems within the lab
- Develop and maintain data pipelines for real-time data processing and analytics
- Stay informed about the latest trends and technologies in data management and analytics
Skills and Qualifications:
- Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in a related field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, etc.
- Experience in data infrastructure, architecture, and warehousing
- Proficiency in data analytics tools and coding (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Java, MATLAB)
- Strong understanding of data governance and regulatory compliance
- Proficiency in managing and analysing data from laboratory equipment
- Knowledge of cloud-based data solutions (e.g., AWS (Amazon Web Services), Azure)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills and an interest in working in an international team
- Ability to develop and maintain data pipelines for real-time processing
- Experience with machine learning and AI techniques is desirable
- Experience with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and/or Laboratory Automation Systems (LAS) is a plus
- Experience with IoT data management and integration is also a plus

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC). You are employed as an Academic Officer, Senior Officer, Senior Executive Officer.
You will be hired by DTU Construct but work across DTU’s departments via the DALSA initiative and its organizational framework. The offered job is a permanent position (37 hours per week).
