Who you are
We are looking for a skilled and passionate Financial Controller who wants to work in a global and growth-oriented company with the opportunity to make their mark, and who can help influence, strengthen and develop the controlling area at IKEA DK, including supporting with tax controlling activities.
You will work independently and in a structured manner with your tasks, embracing new challenges with confidence. Effective communication with all levels of the organisation is essential, as you will provide service-oriented support and act as a trust-building link between Finance & Accounting and the rest of the organisation.Your expertise in Danish tax regulations and compliance will be crucial in ensuring IKEA Denmark meets its tax obligations efficiently and accurately.
We expect from you:
Analytical experience: You have solid experience in analyzing financial information based on both legal and operating economic principles.
Data skills: You are proficient in Excel and generally have an easy time learning new accounting software (SAP knowledge is a plus), including tax management modules used within IKEA Denmark.
Financial process management: You are adept at optimising and streamlining financial and administrative processes, ensuring they align with Danish tax laws and reporting requirements.
Collaboration: That you have good collaboration skills, thrive with responsibility and deadlines and have a good mood and positive energy.
Clear communicator: You can communicate financial and accounting key figures and issues in a clear and easy-to-understand manner, including complex tax matters to non-financial stakeholders.
Background: You have a relevant financial background such as HD Accountancy, cand.merc.aud, or similar, and at least 5 years’ experience as a financial controller from a large company, preferably with experience in Danish tax management.
Compliance and detail-oriented: You are able to interpret Danish tax rules and legislation, implement necessary changes to achieve compliance, and ensure accurate tax filings and reporting.
Problem-solving: Possesses a good overview with an eye for detail, has a high drive and proactively seeks solutions. Works systematically, is quick to acquire new knowledge and good at prioritizing.
Language skills: You communicate fluently in Danish and English, both in writing and speech, to effectively liaise with local tax authorities and internal stakeholders.
Your responsibilities
Participation in month and year-end.
Preparation of annual accounts: Participate in the preparation of annual accounts, including the preparation and quality assurance of audit material with a focus on tax compliance.
Month-end closing processes: Ensure the accurate reporting of financial information to the business, including tax-related entries and reconciliations.
Internal controls: Assist in implementing internal controls and reporting thereof both internally and to the Group, with a focus on tax compliance and risk management.
Operational financial follow-up on purchases of goods, services and revenue, including reconciliations thereof.
Operational financial review of other costs and projects.
To go in-depth, in the engine room and understand our financial models and to be able to pass on this understanding to internal stakeholders.
Value-creating analyses: Provide the business with relevant and value-creating analyses, key figures, and proposals for improvements, including tax efficiency strategies.
Carrying out various reconciliations and checks.
Participation in many varied projects and ad hoc tasks.

You can look forward to becoming part of a committed team of 12 employees who work closely together across daily tasks and professional areas. You will get to work together with our colleagues at the Service Office (head office), IKEA business navigators in the warehouses and with Group Finance in the Netherlands.In addition, you will also enter into a collaboration with our Shared Service Center in India, which handles our transactional tasks.

Other information- Danish work permits are required and speaking and writing fluent in Danish and English as well and you know the Danish Tax system/regulations.
- The position is an average of 37 hours per week on an individual contract. Overtime is reflected in the salary. Working hours are between 8-16 on weekdays, but we are flexible, and you can also work from home.
- Salary within IKEA's salary policy is based on your skills and includes pension.
