Location:Måløv, Capital Region of Denmark, DK

Are you a highly motivated individual with a passion for making scientific digital solutions work and provide value? If you are ready to make a difference in the pharmaceutical industry by enabling data-driven research, read on and apply today for a life-changing career.

The position

The Application Specialist will support R&ED (Research & Early Development) scientists with laboratory informatics solutions. These might be existing global solutions that you configure for local needs, or new digital applications that you introduce, implement and help support.
You will achieve this by maintaining close contact with relevant R&ED scientists to understand their needs for a digital solution and help to translate those into requirements while keeping FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) principles and the overall R&ED strategy in mind.
In addition, you will help scientists leverage these digital solutions more effectively by providing targeted user support, documentation and training. You will be part of an interdisciplinary agile product team, consisting of colleagues from R&ED and our global IT organization, and are expected to align with the Product Owner, software engineers, and research informatics experts to coordinate the delivery of digital solutions within a scaled agile solution delivery model.

Additionally, you will collaborate with relevant commercial and academic collaboration partners outside of the company.

As an application specialist, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Be a key contributor to our strategic initiative to create a global research informatics and data management landscape for R&ED scientists.
  • Work in close collaboration with R&ED scientists focusing on target discovery and drug development and support them to reach their research goals with existing and future digital solutions, including the enablement of AI/ML models.
  • Contribute to the configuration, adaptation, and testing of digital solution(s) for research data capturing, management, and analysis (e.g., ELN (Electronic Lab Notebook), entity registration, lab data automation & workflow solutions, experiment result data management, data visualization and insights generation) at our research sites.
  • Serve as expert for our global research data management solutions across all phases of the digital solution life cycle, in particular with regards to requirement gathering, adaptation/configuration/operation of solutions, and user documentation & training.
  • Establish and nurture effective partnerships with research IT specialists, IT and data experts, external consultants, and digital solution vendors to identify the best digital solution(s) for research data management, ensure strategic alignment, high engagement, and the effective prioritization of resources.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

  • BSc/MSc in Life Sciences (Biology/Chemistry), Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science (or a related field) and 3+ years of experience in life sciences (academia and/or industry).
  • You have knowledge of the pharmaceutical research IT/informatics domain and broad expertise ranging from research data management to scientific digital solutions, including the ability to perform hands on technical work.
  • You have relevant technical knowledge to configure / administer / maintain (vendor or home-built) digital solutions.
  • You have solid knowledge in a scripting language, e.g., Python, R, or similar to be able to transform / analyze various scientific data. SQL Scripting knowledge is an advantage.
Moreover, you are solution-oriented, a quick learner, and open to explore and learn new digital tools and technologies. You negotiate complex expectations with a structured approach and have the ability to thrive amidst ambiguity and discern the unexpressed problems and derived requirements for digital solutions in a complex global research organization.

Having previous experience in change management and user adoption is an advantage.
