Course Leader and Associate Professor/Professor in Gynecology, Obstetrics, and Pediatrics at the Department of Clinical Medicine - Aarhus
This is a permanent 50% position, with an expected start date of March 1, 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter. The position involves course development and coordination, as well as teaching and examination related to the course. A significant portion of the role includes the organization of OSCE exams and the overall development of the 5th semester of the graduate program, which is also the international semester with exchange students from around the world.
Department of Clinical Medicine As a Course Leader at the Department of Clinical Medicine, you will be part of what is probably the largest health science research department in Denmark. Our clinical research covers all the medical specialities and takes place in close collaboration with the university hospital and the regional hospitals in the Central Denmark Region.We have approx. 30,000 square metres of modern research facilities for experimental surgery and medicine, animal facilities and also advanced scanners at our disposal. The department has overall responsibility for the Master's degree programs in medicine and in molecular medicine.
At the department we are approx. 670 academic employees, 500 PhD students and 160 technical/administrative employees who are cooperating across disciplines. As a Course Leader, you will be working at Aarhus University Hospital or another hospital in the Central Denmark Region.

Your Responsibilities As a course leader, you will significantly contribute to the development of the department's teaching environment by managing the organization of teaching in collaboration with the chair professors and clinical and external lecturers.In your teaching, you ensure a high academic and didactic standard.
Your tasks will primarily include:
- Updating the course curriculum
- Course management
- Developing teaching methods with a focus on integrating theory and practice
- Preparing teaching programs and student work plans
- Planning student assessments, including conducting MCQ and OSCE exams
- Course evaluation
- Continued development of the course in collaboration with professor and chairs and other significant teaching personal
- Research of high international quality, including publication in top international journals and communicating your research in national and international academic networks.
- Collaborating with Health Studies and the secretariat at Department of Clinical Medicine on the practical organization of the course
- Collaborating with the course leadership of other main courses in the Master part of the medical program in the continuing development of the Master program
Your Qualifications You are employed as a specialist doctor in the Central Denmark Region within one of the specialties included in the course: Gynecology-obstetrics, clinical genetics, or paediatrics. You are academically qualified at either associate professor or professor level with well-documented teaching experience, and you have leadership experience in planning, achieving, and executing goals and providing feedback.
As a person, you are dedicated and possess excellent communication skills. You are capable of building trustful relationships with students, colleagues, and partners. As a teacher, you convey the latest and most relevant knowledge in an engaging, clear, and concise manner.As a supervisor, you are competent, inspiring, and supportive.
You will take co-responsibility for the development of the department's research and education at the highest international level and for maintaining a good working environment.
You naturally engage in interdisciplinary collaboration at the department, faculty, and university levels, as well as nationally and internationally. We expect you to speak and write English fluently.
The course leader will be employed in either a 50% associate professorship or a 50% professorship, depending on qualifications.- To be assessed as qualified for an associate professor position, you must meet these academic criteria.
